This past weekend I was honored to meet up with Lee + Lisa Schmitt, and Jim Heffernan, of the new trucker advocacy organization CDL Drivers Unlimited.
We were all at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Kentucky; it was my first time ever going to that great Festival of All Things Trucking, and I highly recommend you check it out if you ever get the chance.
Lisa, Lee, and Jim, joined me in the Media Lounge at MATS, where they filled me in on how CDL Drivers Unlimited started, their recent trip to DC, how Lee was asked directly to speak by the FMCSA at a listening session they gave at MATS, and what they plan on doing to help fix this industry up for the people who keep it moving.
You can read this great interview The Schmitts gave to Todd Dills over at Overdrive Online, and then check out CDL Drivers Unlimited website here. The companion website, CDL Drivers and Friend, can be found here.
You can follow Lee and Lisa on Twitter and me on Twitter.
Feel free to contact the show with any comments or questions

and remember to pass this around to your fellow truckers - word of mouth is the best advertising, and I appreciate you helping the show out.
