It has been nearly two years since Jerry Morin, Chris Carbert, Chris Lysak, and Tony Olienick were arrested in relation to their participation at the Coutts, Alberta Freedom Convoy protest site. They have been denied bail, and their trial is not set to begin until May 2024, a full 27 months after their arrests.
Regular readers of this Substack will know that these men are being railroaded by their own government, in a situation akin to how many of those arrested in relation to January 6 incidents in the United States were treated. Kept for long periods of solitary confinement, or often being housed with murderers, rapists, or merchants of opioid poisons, and also being denied necessary health care, one might see this as analogous to Guantanamo Bay being brought to Canada by the wicked and evil Justin Trudeau.
In my own life, while all of this is going on, I have been on something of an internal journey, and in the process of renegotiating philosophical and spiritual positions I once held.
Through all of my writings and advocacy, and through the dark days of Covid insanity, it has been, to a great extent, people of faith who have supported my work, and acted in solidarity against the fundamentally draconian actions of state, corporation, media, and ruling class; conversely, it is those whom I once considered fellow travelers in secularity and atheism, whom have replaced God with the state, that have been my primary antagonists.
I have seen social media screenshots of past associates who hadn’t the courage to pick up the phone and discuss these matters in person, and it is revealed that they have succumbed to the narrative controllers, and allowed hate to overrule the fullness of love that would have otherwise occupied their hearts.
It is in this zeitgeist quagmire, however, that I have come to know some truly beautiful people, and two of them have suggested books to me which speak greatly to both my own journey away from atheism, and to the situations that the Coutts Men have found themselves in. Having begun to read them, while also communicating with those men in Alberta, held in the carceral purgatory known as ‘remand’, I have witnessed a through-line between the wisdom and journeys described in these books, and the light that I see shining from inside Tony Olienick, despite his two years of grossly immoral incarceration.
More on that light below some selections from these books.
It is a point of great pride and privilege that I can now call
I met Farahn on a recent road trip, this particular highway caravan itself a pivotal moment for the journey happening inside, and she suggested to me "The Pilgrim's Progess", a 17th century work of Christian Allegory by a man named John Bunyan.
Bunyan wrote this work, which has never been out of print and is considered by most to be a classic, while imprisoned for the heinous crime of holding religious services outside of the rules of The Church of England, who may as well have been an arm of the state at the time. Those familiar with the harassment of Artur Pawlowski by authorities in Canada should see the connection here, and if you don’t know or remember Pastor Artur, here he is passing righteous judgement against the enforcers of the Covid Regime and its idiotic strictures -
Another book recommended to me recently is "On The Consolation of Philosophy" by the Roman philosopher Boethius.
In recent travels, both along the great expanse of America’s Mid-West, and through the inner recesses of my own soul, I have come to know and to meet a gentleman by the name of
Nathan recommended Boethius and ‘The Consolation of Philosophy’ to me as a work to help guide me with the current review and reconsideration of positions past held, and where I should go next. Nathan is a really great guy, and you will thoroughly enjoy our chat above; if you click through to that interview, you will also find links to Nathan’s published works at Christianity Today and Front Porch Republic, which are fine examples of what my friend Ashley calls “Chud Philosophy”.
From the Wikipedia entry on ‘The Consolation of Philosophy’ linked above -
On the Consolation of Philosophy was written in AD 523 during a one-year imprisonment Boethius served while awaiting trial—and eventual execution—for the alleged crime of treason under the Ostrogothic King Theodoric the Great. Boethius was at the very heights of power in Rome, holding the prestigious office of magister officiorum, and was brought down by treachery. This experience inspired the text, which reflects on how evil can exist in a world governed by God (the problem of theodicy), and how happiness is still attainable amidst fickle fortune, while also considering the nature of happiness and God. In 1891, the academic Hugh Fraser Stewart described the work as "by far the most interesting example of prison literature the world has ever seen."
You can read ‘The Consolation of Philosophy’ at Project Gutenburg, and I would hope that the Men’s advocates in Alberta can get a copy into their hands.
Some selections from this great work, which alternates between prose and verse, and is structured as a conversation between Boethius and ‘Lady Philosophy’ -
Whoso calm, serene, sedate,
Sets his foot on haughty fate;
Firm and steadfast, come what will,
Keeps his mien unconquered still;
Him the rage of furious seas,
Tossing high wild menaces,
Nor the flames from smoky forges
That Vesuvius disgorges,
Nor the bolt that from the sky
Smites the tower, can terrify.
Why, then, shouldst thou feel affright
At the tyrant's weakling might?
Dread him not, nor fear no harm,
And thou shall his rage disarm;
But who to hope or fear gives way—
Lost his bosom's rightful sway—
He hath cast away his shield,
Like a coward fled the field;
He hath forged all unaware
Fetters his own neck must bear!

Thou knowest that what I say is the truth, and that I have never boasted of my good deeds in a spirit of self-praise. For whenever a man by proclaiming his good deeds receives the recompense of fame, he diminishes in a measure the secret reward of a good conscience. What issues have overtaken my innocency thou seest. Instead of reaping the rewards of true virtue, I undergo the penalties of a guilt falsely laid to my charge—nay, more than this; never did an open confession of guilt cause such unanimous severity among the assessors, but that some consideration, either of the mere frailty of human nature, or of fortune's universal instability, availed to soften the verdict of some few. Had I been accused of a design to fire the temples, to slaughter the priests with impious sword, of plotting the massacre of all honest men, I should yet have been produced in court, and only punished on due confession or conviction. Now for my too great zeal towards the senate I have been condemned to outlawry and death, unheard and undefended, at a distance of near five hundred miles away.
———
'But that thou mayst not think that I wage implacable warfare against Fortune, I own there is a time when the deceitful goddess serves men well—I mean when she reveals herself, uncovers her face, and confesses her true character. Perhaps thou dost not yet grasp my meaning. Strange is the thing I am trying to express, and for this cause I can scarce find words to make clear my thought. For truly I believe that Ill Fortune is of more use to men than Good Fortune. For Good Fortune, when she wears the guise of happiness, and most seems to caress, is always lying; Ill Fortune is always truthful, since, in changing, she shows her inconstancy. The one deceives, the other teaches; the one enchains the minds of those who enjoy her favour by the semblance of delusive good, the other delivers them by the knowledge of the frail nature of happiness. Accordingly, thou mayst see the one fickle, shifting as the breeze, and ever self-deceived; the other sober-minded, alert, and wary, by reason of the very discipline of adversity. Finally, Good Fortune, by her allurements, draws men far from the true good; Ill Fortune ofttimes draws men back to true good with grappling-irons.
And some selections from “The Pilgrim’s Progress”, which you can also read for free over at Project Gutenburg.
In this part of the journey of Christian, the Pilgrim making his Progress, he is counseled by '‘Worldly Wiseman’ to take the easy route, and to turn away from that which is actually required in bearing his burden.
{31} Wherefore Christian was left to tumble in the Slough of Despond alone: but still he endeavoured to struggle to that side of the slough that was still further from his own house, and next to the wicket-gate; the which he did, but could not get out, because of the burden that was upon his back: but I beheld in my dream, that a man came to him, whose name was Help, and asked him, What he did there?
———
{38} WORLD. How now, good fellow, whither away after this burdened manner?
CHR. A burdened manner, indeed, as ever, I think, poor creature had! And whereas you ask me, Whither away? I tell you, Sir, I am going to yonder wicket-gate before me; for there, as I am informed, I shall be put into a way to be rid of my heavy burden.
WORLD. Hast thou a wife and children?
CHR. Yes; but I am so laden with this burden that I cannot take that pleasure in them as formerly; methinks I am as if I had none. [1 Cor 7:29]
WORLD. Wilt thou hearken unto me if I give thee counsel?
CHR. If it be good, I will; for I stand in need of good counsel.
{39} WORLD. I would advise thee, then, that thou with all speed get thyself rid of thy burden; for thou wilt never be settled in thy mind till then; nor canst thou enjoy the benefits of the blessing which God hath bestowed upon thee till then.
CHR. That is that which I seek for, even to be rid of this heavy burden; but get it off myself, I cannot; nor is there any man in our country that can take it off my shoulders; therefore am I going this way, as I told you, that I may be rid of my burden.
WORLD. Who bid thee go this way to be rid of thy burden?
CHR. A man that appeared to me to be a very great and honourable person; his name, as I remember, is Evangelist.
{40} WORLD. I beshrew him for his counsel! there is not a more dangerous and troublesome way in the world than is that unto which he hath directed thee; and that thou shalt find, if thou wilt be ruled by his counsel. Thou hast met with something, as I perceive, already; for I see the dirt of the Slough of Despond is upon thee; but that slough is the beginning of the sorrows that do attend those that go on in that way. Hear me, I am older than thou; thou art like to meet with, in the way which thou goest, wearisomeness, painfulness, hunger, perils, nakedness, sword, lions, dragons, darkness, and, in a word, death, and what not! These things are certainly true, having been confirmed by many testimonies. And why should a man so carelessly cast away himself, by giving heed to a stranger?
CHR. Why, Sir, this burden upon my back is more terrible to me than all these things which you have mentioned; nay, methinks I care not what I meet with in the way, if so be I can also meet with deliverance from my burden.
{41} WORLD. How camest thou by the burden at first?
CHR. By reading this book in my hand.
WORLD. I thought so; and it is happened unto thee as to other weak men, who, meddling with things too high for them, do suddenly fall into thy distractions; which distractions do not only unman men, as thine, I perceive, have done thee, but they run them upon desperate ventures to obtain they know not what.
CHR. I know what I would obtain; it is ease for my heavy burden.
{42} WORLD. But why wilt thou seek for ease this way, seeing so many dangers attend it? especially since, hadst thou but patience to hear me, I could direct thee to the obtaining of what thou desirest, without the dangers that thou in this way wilt run thyself into; yea, and the remedy is at hand. Besides, I will add, that instead of those dangers, thou shalt meet with much safety, friendship, and content.
CHR. Pray, Sir, open this secret to me.
{43} WORLD. Why, in yonder village--the village is named Morality-- there dwells a gentleman whose name is Legality, a very judicious man, and a man of very good name, that has skill to help men off with such burdens as thine are from their shoulders: yea, to my knowledge, he hath done a great deal of good this way; ay, and besides, he hath skill to cure those that are somewhat crazed in their wits with their burdens. To him, as I said, thou mayest go, and be helped presently. His house is not quite a mile from this place, and if he should not be at home himself, he hath a pretty young man to his son, whose name is Civility, that can do it (to speak on) as well as the old gentleman himself; there, I say, thou mayest be eased of thy burden; and if thou art not minded to go back to thy former habitation, as, indeed, I would not wish thee, thou mayest send for thy wife and children to thee to this village, where there are houses now stand empty, one of which thou mayest have at reasonable rates; provision is there also cheap and good; and that which will make thy life the more happy is, to be sure, there thou shalt live by honest neighbours, in credit and good fashion.
{44} Now was Christian somewhat at a stand; but presently he concluded, if this be true, which this gentleman hath said, my wisest course is to take his advice; and with that he thus further spoke.
{45} CHR. Sir, which is my way to this honest man's house?
WORLD. Do you see yonder hill?
CHR. Yes, very well.
WORLD. By that hill you must go, and the first house you come at is his.
{46} So Christian turned out of his way to go to Mr. Legality's house for help; but, behold, when he was got now hard by the hill, it seemed so high, and also that side of it that was next the wayside did hang so much over, that Christian was afraid to venture further, lest the hill should fall on his head; wherefore there he stood still and wotted not what to do. Also his burden now seemed heavier to him than while he was in his way. There came also flashes of fire out of the hill, that made Christian afraid that he should be burned. [Ex. 19:16, 18] Here, therefore, he sweat and did quake for fear. [Heb. 12:21]
This is probably a good place to remind everyone that the men, collectively, have spent nearly a million dollars on Lawyers and legal fees, having gone through a dozen of the bastards, and got nowhere for the effort.
Maybe it has something to do with 76% of Canada’s judiciary being appointees of The Liberal Party of Canada, who appear to employ loyalty screening when considering appointments to The Bench.
Before I get to the Light seen shining from Tony Olienick, despite the absurd and evil situation he has found himself in, as the others, a political prisoner of the hateful and abominable Justin Trudeau, another passage from ‘Pilgrim’s Progress’, which Tony exemplifies in communications shared further below.
CHR. Then I perceive it is not best to covet things that are now, but to wait for things to come.
INTER. You say the truth: "For the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." [2 Cor. 4:18] But though this be so, yet since things present and our fleshly appetite are such near neighbours one to another; and again, because things to come, and carnal sense, are such strangers one to another; therefore it is, that the first of these so suddenly fall into amity, and that distance is so continued between the second.
{80} Then I saw in my dream that the Interpreter took Christian by the hand, and led him into a place where was a fire burning against a wall, and one standing by it, always casting much water upon it, to quench it; yet did the fire burn higher and hotter.
Then said Christian, What means this?
{81} The Interpreter answered, This fire is the work of grace that is wrought in the heart; he that casts water upon it, to extinguish and put it out, is the Devil; but in that thou seest the fire notwithstanding burn higher and hotter, thou shalt also see the reason of that. So he had him about to the backside of the wall, where he saw a man with a vessel of oil in his hand, of the which he did also continually cast, but secretly, into the fire.
Then said Christian, What means this?
{82} The Interpreter answered, This is Christ, who continually, with the oil of his grace, maintains the work already begun in the heart: by the means of which, notwithstanding what the devil can do, the souls of his people prove gracious still. [2 Cor. 12:9] And in that thou sawest that the man stood behind the wall to maintain the fire, that is to teach thee that it is hard for the tempted to see how this work of grace is maintained in the soul.
We have all been greatly blessed by the work of Margaret ‘Granny’ Mackay in her tenacious advocacy for Tony and the other men, as she carries on a Herculean struggle against both the state, and misguided (or possibly malicious) actors who haven’t the good sense to focus their efforts on the real enemy here, the government of Canada.
Margaret maintains regular communications with the men, by phone and letter, and sometimes his phone calls have been patched through to online meetings held by Danielle Slettede, another of his advocates.
Before Tony was arrested, he had a gravel quarry, heavy equipment, and various trucks for hauling it all around. I don’t know how much of his gear has all been sold off in attempts to finance competent legal representation, but now you know where I got the title for this piece from.
(And for those fixated on the unproven and unsubstantiated allegations of the RCMP, the ‘pipe bombs’ they accuse Tony of having are industrial explosives used in the production of gravel and other products for building roads and such. I wouldn’t expect soft-hand urbanites to understand how the material reality around them came into being, but if you are one of those people, keep this in mind while you imbibe CBC/CTV/etc propaganda, much of it still available online in direct contravention of the first publication ban imposed on the media in discussing the details of this case)
For your consideration, and for posterity, may I present you the shining light of Tony Olienick, truly a great credit to his mother, Tessie, 80 years old and suffering greatly while the only other member of her family is held in captivity by the criminal Justin Trudeau.
Tony Olienick update
December 22 2023
Back in Medicine Hat Remand:
Good day Granny!
So here is my update since December 5 when I was transferred from Medicine Hat remand to Calgary Remand, upon arrival they humiliate us by strip searching us and then body scan us with some machine you stand on as it traverses back and forth pumping you with radiation waves even though they say its "perfectly" normal (add eye rolling emoji) from there I was sent to unit 7 which is an intake unit for guys right off the street, its a very dirty unit and thankfully the inmate had cleaned the dried puke off my bunk with his socks right before I arrived to be his cell mate. He had then threw the socks into the toilet and tried flushing them and they plugged the toilet. So we had no working toilet until the next day when thankfully staff came and fixed the problem.
In unit 7 we were allowed out for 1 hr out of our 8ft x 10ft cells twice a day into the range to talk on the phone or walk around the concrete outside courtyard. Only a few cells at a time open as so many mixed people there who don't get along so that's why they rotate the cells for free time to keep the fighting down. It was quiet this go around there, some yelling and screaming in the middle of the night but nothing like was to come when I got to Lethbridge correctional.
So on December 7 the sheriffs picked me and a few other inmates up and we rode to Lethbridge in the "cheese grater" van. We are handcuffed and leg shackled and have to sit in a cramped metal uncomfortable box looking out through small little holes like a cheese grater! So if its colder outside the defrost doesn't work and then you can't see anything so you sit there on that small metal bench in complete delusion of where you even are.
Now arriving at Lethbridge correctional (LCC) they again strip search and body scan you! Like they don't trust the previous jail or sheriff's so they degrade us again and blast us with more radiation.
Now in LCC they put me in a health care unit which had very nice guards who did their best to make my time there as easy as possible considering the circumstances. They opened the trap door halfway up the door that the food trays come in and left it open all day so I could lay in bed and watch the TV. They also let me have a tablet and cordless phone all day and they did let me out of my cell on average of 3-4hrs a day. The unit is small and the other inmates were quiet as they were sick with the flu, but there was one inmate who kept the whole jail up yelling and screaming and pounding on the walls all night and all day for two days straight. I prayed for him and the guards finally got him extra blankets and he he took his meds and calmed down. Finally we all had sleep, and peace and quiet. Inmates would yell at him and he only got louder; prayer, I found, was the best cure.
—
The Chaplain and local volunteer came by the unit and sang Christmas carols and brought treats on Dec. 13 that was very uplifting and amazing!
I was told I was possibly going to be transfered on Dec. 14 direct back to Medicine Hat on the health care dental run but then that plan changed and I was sent to unit 3 another intake unit with 22hr lock downs …
—
On Dec. 15 I witnessed another inmate suffer from a medical emergency, EMS was called even and they rolled him out on a stretcher, he was alive and talking thankfully but they took him to the hospital and that was the last I seen of him as he never came back.
At least in unit 3 you can see out your window on ground level so I would watch magpies and other birds hunt for bugs in the grass, jamming their beaks into the grass hoping to find a tasty morsel! It was quite entertaining to watch!
Then I was told I would be transfered out Dec. 18 back to Calgary then to Medicine Hat on Dec. 19. But the 18th came and went and nothing happened! So I waited patiently thinking OK maybe the 19th they will transfer me, but that day came and went. Thankfully I had some letters to reply back too, and I spent time on the tablet reading news articles hoping any day now I would be headed back to the Hat. I didn't order canteen as I thought I would be back in the Hat, the window closed on ordering from LCC so every thing was up in the air.
On Dec. 21 a very nice Director Man came by my cell and I had a visit with him and he filled me in on all the phone calls they were receiving from people worried about my situation! Wow! I said that's the power of the people as I said I never said anything to them, they just know and feel what's going on is crazy and unbelievable. He agreed and was very kind, he said we are trying to get you back to the Hat on a direct trip before the weekend, but it has to be organized with sheriffs for transport which then I said well how can sometimes the correctional centers can transfer inmates on their own without sheriff involvement like I was originally last year when I went from LCC the first time to the Hat? Such a disconnect from one government system to the other, the right hand doesn't speak to the left as we clearly see with all government organizations.
Then finally today came along and the nice guard told me right before breakfast trays to pack my stuff as I am being transferred! Music to my ears! Crazy to think that I thought, yeah you are being transferred to another jail and not home for Christmas instead, (add sarcasm) so I got all handcuffed up, back in the cheese grater and off we went and upon arrival in the Hat.. You guessed it! Strip search and body scan!! 😕
Thankfully a nice guard and Mr. Miller allowed me to order canteen as he talked the canteen people into staying late and filling my order, I thanked them all for doing that for me, as I probably won't see all my cell effects until late next week which then by the time I get all my other stuff it will be time to repeat this whole process again as I have to appear in court for 10min on January 8.
I wish instead of going up to Calgary first each time I leave either LCC or the Hat that why not just go direct skipping Calgary altogether as the logistics don't make any sense any way you look at it, but that's the government for you, what do they do that makes sense that has the taxpayers best interest in mind? .... I'll leave that out there for more brainstorming.
Anyway I'm here in the Hat in a different unit than what I normally reside in, but the unit is good and I have an east view so should get some morning sun in.
Thank you all so very much for your love and concern these last few days, your love and energy help me get through these long days as I don't have any loneliness knowing you are all out there thinking and fighting for our cause, it sure means a lot!
God bless you All

December 25th
Tony Olienick
Morning
Merry Christmas to all you great amazing Patriots out there!
I thank you with every bit of love from my heart and soul for all the hard work, long suffering and sacrifice you have all endured. I thank Granny Mackay for being our voice and spreading our story to other great voices who are bringing awareness to our situation.
Since this time last year, we have gained massive traction in our quest to bring about true freedom and rights back to our nation.
I remember sitting in a private room on Christmas eve last year reading through a stack of cards and letters written to me by complete strangers. It was one of the greatest Christmas presents I've ever received! But then this Christmas eve came and again I was in that same private room with a stack four times as big as last year! So this Christmas is one of the greatest gifts I've ever experienced as the gift to me is ALL of you freedom fighters who have sent me your love, support, and prayers, and that is one gift that I will cherish for the rest of my life. You ALL inspire me so very much, and that makes my time here behind these walls flourish with positive vibrations and seeing our numbers grow and grow give me great hope for a very prosperous 2024.
I feel great things are coming in 2024, the veil is being lifted, the walls are crumbling down, the light will be cast upon the darkness as love is about to make a profound entrance that will shake this world to its core and all the bad apples will fall from the tree of deception never to be re-sprouted into a tree again.
As we celebrate our Saviours birth today, let it be a birth of a new beginning that starts right now. Our patience and sacrifices are being heard and moving forward, from this day forward things will only get better in the grand scheme as we know the good Lord has got our backs and will not disappoint or lead us astray.
We must continue to hold the line and maintain our freedom families unity together, not letting our personal grievances or prideful self desires get in the way of seeing the bigger picture and knowing that the bigger picture far exceeds our own personal desires and that is what we must aim and shoot for to achieve a true free society and future for our children and generations to come.
Hold Holy Holy God of the heavenly kingdoms, thank you for the birth of our Lord and Saviour as we ALL bow before the greatest Patriot of all time whom sacrificed Himself for love and the greater good of society. His sacrifice lives on and is now growing and coming back around as this world has tried to suppress His word it now gains steam and reverses its course casting a love so strong that cannot be unbroken or mislead anymore. We praise you Lord for everything you have done bringing us together starting with the freedom convoy and now growing through coffee dates, freedom rallies and social media. I stand with You, God of love, therefore I stand with Your people and All Patriots.
Love Tony Olienick :-)
———
Jan 1st from Tony:
Happy New Year to ALL you wonderful freedom-lovers and Patriots out there! Thank you for supporting Me, Chris, Jerry and Chris as your love and support is what keeps us holding the line and standing for All Canadian rights and freedoms.
I believe 2024 will be the year of righteous change that will glorify God and love, as His plan comes together. The curtain is being lifted for all to see and there will be no hiding the truth. Everyone will soon be made aware of the real criminals behind the scenes and their crimes will be exposed and judgment will fall upon their actions.
Let's take the time to trust in God and trust in one another, as we can't do this alone, we need God and each other to be victorious.
We need to put our mindsets back to how they were in February of 2022 when we all came together as one giant force of extreme love that couldn't be shook or uprooted as it was completely righteous to the core. Only then with that foundation we built together standing on those overpasses waving flags, singing songs of praise at the borders and basking in the love on the streets of Ottawa will we be able to restore our great country back to something even better then we could ever imagine!
I pray and dream of this great vision each and every day in my cell, as I know we can All accomplish this quest together with light and love leading the charge.
God Bless you All, and may God be with us to stand strong together forever in His glory.
Tony Olienick 🙂

This final missive is a transcription of a phone-in Tony made to a video stream some of us had, a situation update conversation, as it were, held on January 4th.
We went out in the Sheriff’s Suburban … I got to pass a fellow Freedom Lover there in Strathmore that had a bumper sticker (in support of the men) on their vehicle … it was sticking out for the Sheriffs to see … this lovely couple were sitting there with smiles on their face … I don’t know if they knew that this was a Sheriff’s vehicle, because it was a white Suburban with no markings.
They were smiling away and it was nice to see that, that really melted my heart to see a bumper sticker in real time out on the road, and that just goes to show that theres so much love and support out there and its growing, and I’m so grateful for that.
Calgary … the intake where they had me in there was completely packed, wall to wall, three inmates to a cell, they have a huge overcrowding situation happening right now … its nicer in Lethbridge, its a little quieter … I’ll probably be able to get some sleep tonight … the last two nights in Calgary, inmates coming and going, guards slamming doors, all night long, its impossible to try and get some sleep.
Theres lots of change coming and lot of good things coming down the road … its all part of the big picture and we have to keep looking at that and lead with our hearts … theres lots of young people writing me and I’m so inspired that they see through all of the darkness going on, and I congratulate the parents for raising such wonderful children that are awake, and I’m really grateful for that …
The cell mates that I did have, we had a little bible study with them, and I feel that I helped three men in there … one guy was a 19 year old named Simon. Unfortunately, he’s in jail for doing dumb things, mainly its either related to alcohol or drug abuse, that’s 90% of all the inmates. I can feel he just needed somebody to talk to, and somebody to reach out to him, using the words of The Lord to help. I felt I touched his soul, he sat there and I could see tears in his eyes, and he wants to make definite change in his life.
In amongst all that nastiness in that Calgary jail, theres still goodness that could be had … and it blows my mind every time that I can help somebody in that aspect, to seed a change that comes over him in knowing that theres hope and he doesn’t need to worry, doesn’t need to stress, he just needs to put his trust in God and Love, and his family is there, ready to support him, he just needs to make that decision.
When he left the cell this morning, he was headed to court for his bail hearing. I had a quick prayer with him and he’s like “I’m promising you, this is exactly what I needed” and he said “I’m so grateful to meet you.” and I said “Well, yeah, I’m grateful to meet you too, because out of all the people they could have put in my cell, they put a guy like you who needed to meet me, and I needed to meet you.” It was very humbling to have that conversation.
And so I pray for him, I hope he got his bail today, and he’s going right to a treatment center, and from there going to his family and starting a new life; and change from this nastiness, this evil world that sticks its talons into a person and drag you down the wrong path … we need to try to be there to help pick up everybody, everyone that we can.
One extra person that we can help and save, we are doing The Lord’s work then.

Those outside Canada who wish to donate can send funds via GiveSendGo.
Speaking of GiveSendGo, they have been able to assist the men without having Chrystia Freeland get her thieving mitts on the money, for a couple of reasons, one of which is that there is no Emergencies Act in place. Every dollar donated has been delivered to the men’s legal funds, and will continue to do so.

Extraordinary. Thank you for sharing. The testimony at the end brought me to tears. For all that he has been through, just to be so there for the wayward son.
Brilliant piece, the letters from Tony are so inspiring. But you are right, many people who are, I believe bewildered and shocked at the things going on in the world and the revelation that institutions that they once trusted are corrupt beyond belief and that the powerful have no fear of the masses and see themselves as unaccountable to anyone are turning to God or more spiritualism. They see it as the only way to cope and have hope that something or someone beyond this world can make things right again.
