I’m hoping to get some time soon to sit down and read everyone else’s content, as well as write more of my own.
Between truckin and raising two little girls I don’t have much time to spare.
I traveled a bit in The UK back in 2008, I remember the roads in Scotland being out of another world, single track with passing bays, kind of like how the rail operates in the bush in parts of Canada.
Yeah, we've got some tight driving conditions here. I go up to Scotland on a regular basis, although usually to the bigger towns, so manage to mostly stay off the single-tracks. Still plenty of narrow lanes in England and Wales though. Every now and again I think about applying for work in Canada, but family are here and there's reasons to stick around. Looking forward to reading all your content. I found you via Auron Macintyre's talk with Charles Haywood BTW.
I don’t know enough about TuSimple to hazard a guess, but I will say that the AV Car manufacturers are all giving up; were it not for the economic incentive to throw people like me out of work (paying the driver is usually 35% of the cost of operating a truck) I’d say the truck manufacture side of the equation would have given up by now as well.
I will refer you to a great quote from my friend Geoff -
“Artificial Intelligence is called Artificial Intelligence because it is fucking fake - it’s right there in the name, and the fact that no one picks up on this proves the profound autism of the entire project."
Good on ya for taking this step into cyberspace to voice your opinion and thoughts. May your musings travel as many or more miles than you have. Cheers
Good to find another substacking trucker. Bit shorter hauls this side of the pond (Britain
is a small island, haha), although I did used to go onto Europe. Keep the shiney side up, I'll be having a good look through your content.
Thanks mate, and likewise.

Any thoughts on the demise or potential acquisition of TuSimple?
