Hello and good day to fans and subscribers of Autonomous Truck(er)s and the Voice of GO(r)D podcast.
A short note here to offer an apology on delays with getting new episodes of Voice Of GO(r)D out the door; I’ve got several episodes recorded with some really excellent and interesting guests, but unfortunately, as a one man show with family, work, and writing commitments, and very little time as of late, getting them edited and published has been a problem.
I promise to resume posting next week, and you can expect episodes featuring the following guests -
Mr. Barry Bussey, lawyer with Bussey Ainsworth, a law firm in Peterborough, Ontario, and president of the First Freedoms Foundation in Canada, joins the show to discuss his new book 210 Degrees Celsius - 16 Ways Truckers Ignited Canada for The Long Haul, which takes a deep examination of all the legal issues and questions raised around The Freedom Convoy, and the undeniable positive impact it has had on Canadian society.
Returning guest of the show
University of Minnesota-Morris Economics Professor and former trucker Stephen Burks joins me to discuss his past life on the road, and many decades he has spent studying the trucking business. You can read his latest study here to get a taste of what to expect from this conversation.
Back in January, I hosted a roundtable information panel for the Greater Houston Trucking Association to help them understand the looming imposition of Autonomous Trucks on our roads. The ladies behind the GHTA are intimately aware of this new technology, as I-45 between Houston and Dallas has become a proving ground for these trucks, and of particular import for their membership. The panel features regular collaborators of Voice Of GO(r)D - Mr James Year, Mr Will Cook, and Mr Edward Escobar.
I recently reconnected with a fellow from the town I mostly grew up in, that being Beamsville, Ontario, as it has come to my attention that he has developed quite the profile for himself in the online world of mocking the evil regime Canada lives under, and standing up for the rights they seek to take away from you. A very lively conversation was had with Josh Bigger, aka The Best Damn Roofer
And finally, a conversation I’ve been looking forward to for some time now, and we finally managed to organize, which is difficult because of how busy this family is, I bring you the husband and wife team behind HellBent Xpress, Mr and Mrs Jamie and Hillary Hagen.
Jamie is very well known in the trucking world, both as being one of the best owner operators in the business, and for being one of America’s top fuel efficiency nerds.
HellBent Xpress, however, is a Team effort, and I wanted to get to know the other half of that team a little better, and bring her forward for everyone else as well. Hillary is a real awesome lady, and I am very happy to bring her and Jamie’s story to you.
IN THE MEANTIME -
I have accepted more than a few invites to appear on the shows of other podcasters and great content producers as of late, to discuss trucking and the ongoing story of The Coutts Four. A few of them are now live, and I share them here for your perusal.
First up, I met this most extremely popular YouTuber and Trucking Social Media King at the Future of Freight Festival down in Chattanooga late last year, amongst so many other interesting figures present at the wonderful conference.
I was honored to be a guest with Mutha Trucker, aka Alex Mai, and we discussed what’s really going on behind the drive to automate trucks, and how truckers should proceed with their best foot forward.
My buddies Bog Beef and Maarek at the Good Ol Boyz Podcast had me on a recent Tuesday night livestream on Twitch, and I provided an update and substantial deep dive background on the Coutts Four story to their audience.
Listen here!
Speaking of the Coutts story, I was delighted to join former host of the 700 Club and Canadian Alternative Media Maven Laura Lynn Tyler Thompson along with Nikki Thom, where a call-in was set up from remand with Tony Olienick, one of the remaining ‘Coutts 2’ of the original four, who has yet to have his day in court.
You can watch here on Rumble and hear from the indomitable Tony.
A new friend I have made recently is Ashley Fitzgerald of The Rizoma Field School in Uruguay, who amongst her many titles is also a very interesting writer and podcaster.
Ashley invited me and the other Ashley in my life, Dr. Ashley Frawley, onto her show Doomer Optimism to discuss various issues with the left in 2024. It was a delightful conversation, and as always, we remained Optimistic despite the Doom.
And last but not least, I recently joined fellow writers and worriers about Canada,
Tony called in at the 54 minute mark.
And that wraps up the available content for now. I am waiting on release of a couple of other shows that I have guested on, and will post them here soon.
Tomorrow I should have a new essay out at Compact, where I examine Justin Trudeau’s crying about Canadian media layoffs, and lay the blame for the troubles with the Canadian media exactly where they belong - at his feet.
Expect some other fun stuff at Newsweek as well, but maybe not exactly from me.
Thanks for sticking with it, and I do appreciate all of my readers and listeners of the podcast - without you guys here, I don’t have any reason to keep doing this.
I’m almost at 2000 subscribers - as always, my marketing department is you and your kind word of mouth recommendations. Keep it up, maybe I’ll hit 2000 soon, and perhaps even pick up a few more paid subscribers. These kids won’t feed themselves!
More important than me and my children, in the short term, anyways, is continuing to make noise about Tony Olienick, Chris Carbert, James Sowery, and all others in Canada continuing to face political persecution downstream of the Freedom Convoy.
While their rights to protest and free speech have been put in peril, so have yours.
