I was recently invited to sit down with YouTuber, Podcaster, Trucker, Libertarian Philosopher and Electrical Lineman extraordinaire, Mr Reed Coverdale.
(You can find him all over the place via his Linktree, or go and check out his YouTube Channel, Naturalist Capitalist.)
I spoke with Reed last year during the height of Freedom Convoy, and in our new conversation we briefly address it’s aftermath, but most of the discussion focuses on the driver retention problem in the trucking industry, and how it is fueled, in part, by a stealth corporate welfare complex of various subsidies and grants issued by all levels of government.
You can see both of us live, with my propane furnace in the background of the basement, where I record occasionally from my work bench, here -
You can also listen in podcast format from Reed’s Spotify -
And Reed, much like myself, has a Substack, which he doesn’t get enough time to write on, as is our curse being members of what I like to call “Working Class Plus”, or, that portion of the working class who have to put in 50% or more hours than everyone else who work the standard 40 hour week.
Everywhere you look you can see the Pareto Distribution, where Reed and I are both on the productive end, even if the wealth and success part seem elusive … but maybe that’s because of the corporate welfare undermining our wages? Listen in!
In other business, hopefully within the next hour or so I should be posting an interview I conducted at the Mid-America Trucking Show with Lee and Lisa Schmitt, and Jim Heffernan, of the new and already effective trucker advocacy organization, CDL Drivers Unlimited.
Stay tuned, and thanks for listening and reading.
